ROUND ROCK, TX (01.30.21) - The spring season for the UT Dallas men's cross country teams officially opened Saturday morning as the Comets ran against conference competition at the Concordia Invitational, hosted by Concordia Texas.

The Comet men took the team title among the six-team field, scoring 42 points. Freshman
Graeme Maclean finished second overall in the eight-kilometer race with a time of 26:58. UTD would place four among the top 10 finishers in the competition with
Griffin Davis finishing sixth (27:25),
Andres Uriegas seventh (27:33) and
Trent Sakakini eighth (27:44).
Devan Bailey was the final scorer for UTD in 19th place at 29:01. There were 43 runners in the race.
For the women, who finished third overall, with 67 points, sophomore
Hannah Bennett led the Comets with fifth-place finish in the six-kilometer race with a time of 25:14.
Anna Schaeffer finished 13th at 26:43,
Elizabeth Chimitt 20th at 27:38,
Mackenzie Salmonson 25th at 28:07 and
Jocelyn Heckenkamp 29th at 31:01. There were 39 runners in the women's race.
The Comets have one more regular season meet schedule for the American Southwest Conference Championships, also in Round Rock on Feb. 20. UTD will next run at McMurry on Saturday, Feb. 6.
