RICHARDSON, TX (10.19.15) - UT Dallas sophomore Samantha Tschirhart has been named the American Southwest Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced by the league office Monday.

A native of Castroville, Tschirhart sparked the Comets to their first team win of the season, placing third at the University of Dallas Invitational Saturday morning. Tschirhart, a product of Medina Valley High School, finished the 5k race in a time of 20:03, pacing three UTD runners in the top 10.

Tschirhart becomes the second UTD female to earn the honor this season, joining teammate Lindsey Rayborn (Oct. 5).

The Comets will next run in the ASC Championships, Oct. 31, in Tyler.
