AUSTIN, TX (10.29.16) - The UT Dallas women's cross country team collected its first-ever American Southwest Conference Championship Saturday morning, placing runners first and second at the league's meet held on the Balcones-Spicewood Cross Country Course hosted by Concordia Texas.

Junior
Lindsey Rayborn broke 23 minutes for the first time in her career as she won the six-kilometer race in a time of 22:59, becoming the first Comet, male or female, to win the ASC individual title. Freshman
Hollee Ratliff finished one second behind Rayborn for second place at 23:00, earning ASC Freshman of the Year honors. Junior
Samantha Tschirhart rounded out the Comets in the top 10 in eighth place with a time of 24:07.
The Comets finished with 39 points, outdistancing second place McMurry (67) by 28 points. Three-time defending champion Texas-Tyler placed third with 81 points.
Rayborn and Ratliff were each honored as first team All-ASC with their performances while Tschirhart and senior
Mallory Bing earned second team honors. Bing finished in 12th place with a time of 24:46.
Sara Hartke rounded out the Comets' top five in 18th place at 25:18 while sister Sam Hartke was 20th at 25:35.

Rayn House was named the ASC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
Next up for the Comets is the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Meet, hosted by Berry College in Mount Berry, Ga., on Saturday, Nov. 12.
