MOUNT BERRY, GA (11.12.16) - Both the UT Dallas men's and women's cross country teams recorded their best-ever finishes at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Championships Saturday morning, hosted by Berry College.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
The Comet women climbed into the top 10 for the first time in program, placing ninth among the 27 squads, while the UTD men placed 20th out of 29 teams.
Junior
Lindsey Rayborn logged the best-ever finish for a Comet female in the six-kilometer race, finishing in 17th place with a time of 23:17, just missing an opportunity to qualify for the NCAA National Meet.
Freshman
Hollee Ratliff was close behind in 28th place at 23:43.
Mallory Bing was 81st at 25:05,
Samantha Tschirhart 95th at 25:20,
Sam Hartke 133rd at 26:24 and
Megan Lutchman 162nd at 27:22. There were 213 runners in the race.
Emory claimed the women's team title with 68 points, placing five runners among the top 20, while Rhodes was second with 103 points. The Comets finished with 306 points. UTD placed 15th at the 2015 championships.
On the men's side, sophomore
Alireza Nourani was the Comets' top finisher in the eight-kilometer race with a time of 28:01, placing 86th, ahead of senior
Brenton Heble, who finished 92nd in a time of 28:06.
Nathan Musial was 113th and
Blake Stroud was 114th, both finishing in a time of 28:29, while
Christopher Reyna was 156th at 29:32,
John Gabriel was 169th at 30:00 and
Ian Brown was 173rd at30:10. There were 208 men's runners in the event.
Christopher Newport won the men's title with 52 points, edging second-place Washington & Lee, which had 58 points. The Comets totaled 544 points. UTD placed 22nd at last year's meet.
