ROUND ROCK, TX (10.28.17) - The UT Dallas women's cross country team and senior Lindsey Rayborn repeated as conference team and individual champions Saturday morning at the American Southwest Conference Championships, held at Old Settlers Park.

INTERVIEW WITH RAYN HOUSE, LINDSEY RAYBORN

Rayborn set a new ASC Championship record as she finished the six-kilometer race in a time of 22:37 to claim a second-straight individual title. Sophomore Hollee Ratliff placed sixth with a time of 24:11 as the duo both earned first team All-ASC honors for the the second consecutive fall. Senior Samantha Tschirhart earned second team All-ASC recognition as she finished in ninth place with a time of 24:33. Rayborn and Tschirhart became the first Comets in program history to finish their careers as four-time All-ASC honorees.

The Comets scored 50 points as they collected the second league title in program history. UTD held off second-place McMurry (54) by 14 points while Texas-Tyler placed a distant third with 94 points. Hardin-Simmons (74) finished in fourth place, LeTourneau (120) fifth, East Texas Baptist (174) sixth, Ozarks (175) seventh, Concordia Texas (203) eighth, Belhaven (242) ninth and Sul Ross State (259) 10th.

Gina Fossati finished in 16th place with a time of 25:17 while Megan Lutchman was 18th at 25:20 to round of the Comet scorers.

Comet freshman Anna Schaeffer was honored as the ASC Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year while UTD head coach Rayn House was named the ASC Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
