MEMPHIS, TX (09.16.17) - In a field with a multitude of NCAA Division I programs, the UT Dallas men's and women's cross country programs both placed ninth at the Rhodes Invitational Saturday morning.

Paced by senior
Lindsey Rayborn, who finished eighth individually, the Comet women were second among NCAA D-III squads behind host Rhodes, while the UTD men were also the second-placing NCAA D-III program.
Rayborn finished the five-kilometer race in a time of 19:12, placing eighth among 202 total finishers and second among D-III runners.
Samantha Tschirhart finished the face in 38th place at 20:08,
Hollee Ratliff was 49th at 20:20,
Gina Fossati 73rd at 20:56 and
Megan Lutchman 104th at 21:57 to close out the Comet scorers.
Arkansas State won the team title with 50 points, ahead of Memphis (59) and Christian Brothers (139). Host Rhodes was the top NCAA D-III team in fifth place at 164 while the Comets finished with 243 points, ahead of three American Southwest Conference programs.
For the men,
John Will was again the Comets' top runner, placing 32nd with a time of 27:48 in the eight-kilometer event.
Andres Uriegas placed 41st at 27:59,
Alireza Nourani was 49th at 28:19,
John Gabriel 57th at 28:33 and
Jorgediego Rivera Moyet 71st at 29:02 to complete the Comet scorers. There were 188 finishers in the men's race.
Host Rhodes claimed the men's team title with 30 points, ahead of Memphis (87) and Mississippi College (94). The Comets finished with 245 points, also ahead of three ASC squads.
Both UTD teams will return to action Saturday, Oct. 7, at East Texas Baptist.
