Leah Bowyer Action
The Comets and the Cowgirls, who have owned or shared every ASC championship since 2002, will decide the 2011 title Sunday afternoon on the Cowgirls' home field starting at 1 pm.

The Comets (16-3) advanced to the title game Saturday against Concordia (14-6) with a goal and assist from junior Emily Hokanson, and another stellar effort from the UTD defense, which recorded its 15th shutout of the season. The shutout and 16th win both tie UTD single-season records.

Hokanson got the game-winner for the Comets in the 32nd minute, punching in a rebound to give the Comets a 1-0 lead. UTD got an insurance goal just over 10 minutes later when Hokanson set up Leah Bowyer with her 19th goal of the season.

UTD outshot Concordia, 11-4, and held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. UTD goalkeeper Brittany Best had to make just one save on the afternoon to preserve the shutout.
