ABILENE, TX (11.03.17) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team was eliminated from the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Friday afternoon with a 2-1 loss to No. 22-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor in the semifinals.
The Comets fell to 16-4 with the loss after advancing to at least the semifinal round of the ASC Tournament for the 16th consecutive season.
The Cru (16-2-1) took an early 1-0 lead, opening the scoring in the 9th minute when Caitlyn Shaughnessy scored her 15th goal of the season.
UMHB held the 1-0 advantage throughout the opening half before Comet freshman
Keely Fillman evened the contest in the 51st minute with her eighth tally of the year, assisted by
Jessica Rusk. However, Shaughnessy countered two minutes later, assisted by teammate Chelsea Graham, for the game-winner.

Monica Dallacasa was credited with five saves as UMHB put seven shots on goal. The Comets, who trailed 6-4 in shots at the break, outshot UMHB 11-5 in the second half to finish with a 15-11 advantage. Cru keeper Emmy McMaude made seven saves.Â
KEY PERFORMERS:
Melissa Fulfer led five Comets with multiple shots with three.
Michelle Lee and Fillman both had a pair of shots, both on net.
Maya Fuller and
Mandy Avalos also had a pair of shots for UTD.
