RICHARDSON, TX (04.14.18) - The UT Dallas softball team gave up seven late run as the Comets dropped an 11-2 decision to No. 3-ranked Texas-Tyler Saturday afternoon to open a three-game American Southwest Conference series.
The Comets (19-13,15-7 ASC) and Patriots (27-1, 18-1 ASC) will wrap up the weekend set with a 2 p.m. doubleheader Sunday at the UTD Softball Field.
Leading the Comets 4-2 after four innings, visiting UTT plated three runs in the 5th and four more in the 6th to secure the run-rule victory.
The Comets picked up a single run in the 2nd and 3rd innings, keeping pace with UTT until the late innings. Down 2-0 in the 2nd, UTD got on the board with a

Stefanie Polderman. In the 3rd, the Comets got their second run on a
Ravin Wilson ground out, scoring
Melissa Livermore.
Livermore finished 2-for-3 with a stolen base from the lead-off spot as the only Comet with a multi-hit performance.
Karen Crane (11-6) suffered the loss, giving up four earned runs on nine hits in 4.0 innings.
