RICHARDSON, TX (02.06.21) - Ashwin Vaithianathan earned a straight-set victory at No. 1 single but that would be all the UT Dallas men's tennis team could muster in a 6-1 home loss to NCAA Division II Southeastern Oklahoma Saturday.

Vaithianathan opened his match with SOSU's Juan Scopetta with a 7-6 win in the first set before completing the win with a 6-3 win in second two. The Savage Storm answered with five more singles wins after sweeping doubles play.

Saturday's match was scheduled to be played in Sherman, but was moved to UTD due to weather conditions.

The Comets return to the court Thursday with a 2 p.m. home match with University of the Southwest.
