GLADEWATER, Texas - The UT Dallas men's golf team tied for fourth place while freshman
Tyler Durden tied for third at the Tempest Intercollegiate at Tempest Golf Course Tuesday.
The Comets shot a 304-302-295=901 (+37), tying with host LeTourneau. Texas Wesleyan won the 12-team tournament with a +12, followed by Concordia Texas (+29) and East Texas Baptist (+34).
Durden, coming off a tournament win in his collegiate debut last week, was just three shots off the winning score, shooting a 75-72-71=218 (+2).
Junior
Davis Archer, playing as an individual, tied for 11th place with a 74-77-73=224 (+8). Sophomore
Cade Eldridge tied for 23rd with a +12 and sophomore
Daniel Shofner shot a +14, tying for 27. Sophomore
Cole Wiley rounded out the UTD scoring with a +17.
Durden led the Comets with nine birdies over the three-rounds.
UTD will be back in action at the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational in Miramar Beach, Fla. beginning October 16.
