HOUSTON - The UT Dallas softball team lost both games in a double-header against St. Thomas (Texas) at Husky Field on Saturday.
The host Celts (7-3) won the first game 5-0, then defeated the Comets (5-3) 8-0 in six innings.
In the opener, UST outhit UTD 9-5. The Celts had a big three-run second in, taking advantage of four hits and an error.
St. Thomas once again had a 9-5 hits advantage in game two. They had a four-run first inning to take control of the game.
UT Dallas Notes
- Right fielder
Claire Pollack had the lone extra-base hit, a double, in game one.
- Left fielder
Alexia Mullen had two hits and a stolen base in the second contest.
- Catcher
Sarah Lewis went 2-for-3 in the nightcap as well.
- First baseman
Olivia Reed connected on a double in game two.
- Mikayla Hoffman,
Cole Johnson and
Megan Cavazos each recorded a hit in the opener.
St. Thomas Notes
- Bailey Tisdale moved to 4-0 with a five-hit, five-strikeout shutout in game one.
- Rebecca Archibald was 4-for-7 with two runs scored, a walk and a stolen base on the day.
- Right fielder Kayleigh Deakle was 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI in game one.
- Hailey Jackson hit a double in both games.
- Delayne Moreno had a triple in the opener.
- Chloe Bennett hit a solo home run in the first game and had a double in game two.
- Lindsey Gonzalez hit a double, scored three times and batted in two in the nightcap.
- Allison Hughes struck out four, allowing five hits and two walks in six innings to get the win in game two.
