RICHARDSON, Texas-  The UT Dallas baseball team defeated Sul Ross State 7-2 in the American Southwest Conference series finale at UTD Baseball Field Sunday afternoon. 
With the victory, the Comets (14-9, 7-5 ASC) claim win their third consecutive league series after splitting with the Lobos (9-10, 5-7 ASC) Saturday.
SRSU took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first when Orlando Moreno doubled on the right field line and scored on an error. Alvaro Hernandez also drew a bases-loaded walk, plating first baseman Carsen Thor.
UTD tied the game in the bottom of second. Catcher 
Austin Nairn and left fielder Kade Turange led off with back-to-back walks, then 
Keagan Vance bunted both into scoring positions. 
Andrew Skivington followed with an infield single, plating Nairn and 
Jaeger Self hit a sacrifce fly to score Turnage.
In the fourth, Turnage and Vance led off with singles, followed by a walk to Skivington to load the bases. Self grounded into a double play, but Turnage scored to put UTD up for good.
Right fielder 
Daniel Zamora hit an RBI-double and 
Dylan Bivins scored on a wild pitch in the fifth to give the Comets a 5-2 advantage. 
Grayson Coltharp blasted his fourth home run in the last seven games, a two-run shot, to go up 7-2 in the eighth.
The Comets outhit the Lobos 9-6 and drew eight walks. UTD struck out 11 batters and only issued two walks.
UT Dallas Notes
- 
Apollo Cassimatis moved to 2-0 on the season, striking out five and allowed two hits, two walks and no earned runs over six innings.
- Reliever 
Caleb Vuono sruck out six batters and allowed just one hit in three scoreless frames for his first save.
- Skivington extended his hitting streak to 21 games, going 3-for-4 with a run scored, a RBI and a walk. 
- Coltharp's home run was his fourth of the season as his hit streak reached 10 contests.
- Bivins also extended his hitting streak to 10 games, while drawing a walk.
- Turange had a hit, a walk and scored twice.
- Zamora recorded a double, a RBI and a walk.
Sul Ross State Notes
- Dawson Beard (1-4) walked six and allowed four hits and three runs in three innings for the loss.
- Left fielder Tye Lindsey was 2-for-4 for the Lobos.
- Hernandez was 1-for-2 with a RBI and two walks.
- Moreno hit a double and scored.
