SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The UT Dallas defeated #3/14 Trinity (Texas) 15-3 at the TU Baseball Field Tuesday evening.
The Comets (7-5) outhit the Tigers (8-5) 14-9 and took advantage of eight walks and six hit batters, despite being struck out 14 times.
Trinity opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with a run on three hits, but UTD answered with four of its own in the next at bat. Senior second baseman 
Andrew Skivington had a two-run single to center to highlight the frame. 
The Comets took total control of the contest in the fourth with three runs on three hits, an error and two walks. 
Jaeger Self had the big hit of the inning with a two-run single.
After the Tigers added another run in the fourth, the Comets went up 11-2 in the fifth after back-to-back two-run singles from Self and first baseman 
Robert Hines. Trinity posted its final run in the sixth.
Third baseman Dylan BIvins singled to right center, scoring Self and Skivington to give UTD a 13-3 advantage. A bases loaded walk drawn by 
Kade Turnage and a sacrifice fly from 
Nico Fernandez in the top of the ninth made the final score 15-3.
UT Dallas Notes
- Four players made their Comet debut - Fernandez, 
Will Dolan, William Sebrera and 
John Jackson.
- Self was 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. He also stole his fourth base of the year.
- Hines was 4-for-5 with three driven in and a double. It was sixth multiple-hit game of the year.
- Skivington extended his hitting streak to 10 games, going 2-for-3 with four runs scored and three RBI.
- Right fielder 
Luke Finn scored twice, had a single and stole a base.
- Freshman shortstop 
Garrett Neeley drew two walks and scored twice. 
- Jackson had his first collegiate hit and scored.
- 
Colin Ethridge had a pinch hit double.
- 
Brett Huff earned the win, the second of his career, allowing a run, three walks and striking out two over two innings of relief.
- 
Apollo Cassimatis started and went four innings, giving up, five hits, one earned run and had three strikeouts.
- 
Connor Ray, 
Ben Soule and 
Jake Good combined for three scoreless frames and a strikeout each.
Trinity Notes
- Matthew Mackey was the only Tiger pitcher to not give up a run, as he got the final three outs in the ninth.
- Second baseman Colt Harris was 2-for-2 with a double.
- Ezra Gore stole a base, singled and scored
- Six other Tigers had base hits.
