LONGVIEW, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team lost the series finale to LeTourneau 2-1 in American Southwest Conference play at LETU Softball Field Saturday afternoon.
The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth when the Comets (15-19, 6-14 ASC) broke through. Shortstop
Erin Ledesma led off with a single and moved to second on a base hit by
Alexia Mullen. A sacrifice bunt by
Claire Pollack moved the runners up a base and Ledesma crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
The YellowJackets (18-17, 11-10 ASC) tied the game in the bottom of the inning. With one out, right fielder Jenna Carter singled and stole second. After a pop up for the second out, third baseman Maddi Smith knocked in Carter with a hit through the left side of the infield.Â
In the bottom of the seventh, Hailee Leger was hit by a pitch to start the frame and lifted for pinch runner Corinne Van Cleef, who stole second. A walk and bunt single, moved Van Cleef to third and Maddie Flannery knocked her in on a hit up the middle to end the game 2-1.
Both teams recorded five hits, but LETU led in walks drawn 5-0.

- Mullen went 2-for-3 from the leadoff spot.

- Leighton Landreth drew two walks and stole a base.
