RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team ended the 2024 season with a 4-1 American Southwest Conference victory over Hardin-Simmons at UTD Softball Field Saturday afternoon.

Before the game, the Comets (17-20, 8-15 ASC) honored seven seniors - Alexia Mullen, Megan Zatopek, Celeste Soliz, Erin Ledesma, Kailey Gonzales, Olivia Reed and McKenzie Cutbirth.

Three errors in the bottom of the third led to UTD scoring the first run of the game. The Cowgirls (25-12, 14-10 ASC) tied the game in the fifth on a pinch hit RBI-single by Madison Mayhew.

The Comets took control of the game with three runs in the sixth. MiKayla Hoffman led off with a walk, Addison Caddell singled and Cadence Hernandez was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Hoffamn scored on a wild pitch, with Caddell and pinch runner Julia Guerrero both moving into scoring position. Marsia Mejia followed with single to left field, plating Caddell. Guerrero also scored on a wild pitch.

Both teams recorded six hits in the game.

UT Dallas Notes
- Mejia (4-7) earned the win in the circle, allowing one hit with a strikeout in two scoreless innings of relief. She was also 1-for-3 with a RBI at the plate.
- Cutbirth struck out two with five hits, one run and three walks allowed over five innings.
- Caddell went 2-for-3 with a  run scored.
- Mullen, Soliz and Zatopek each added base hits.

Hardin-Simmons Notes
- Kyle Ruiz (4-3) took the loss in relief.
- Mayhew had the pinch hit RBI-single.
- Haley Henson walked twice and stole two bases.
- Emily Jacobs had a hit and a stolen base.
- Jazlynn Cantu recorded a single and a walk.
