Comets Earn 10th Victory of the Season, Blank Eagles 1-0

RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team defeated Oklahoma Christian 1-0 in Lone Star Conference action Wednesday night at the UTD Soccer Field. 

With the win, the Comets improve to 10-2-2 overall and 7-2-1 in league play. This is the 21st 10-win season in the program's 28-year history.

First Half Highlights
- Senior goalkeeper McKenzie Hunninghake made crucial saves early for UTD, including a stop at the 10:33 mark to deny Ruta Andrews' shot.  
- UTD maintained offensive pressure, with Breanna Wooten saving multiple attempts, including efforts by Chelsea Vilca and Kira Schkade.  
- Despite several shots from both teams, neither the Comets nor the Eagles (6-6-1, 4-5 LSC) found the back of the net by halftime.  

Second Half Highlights
- Maya Walker initiated the offensive momentum for UTD with an early shot at 50:35.  
- Vilca broke the deadlock in the 59th minute, securing a 1-0 lead for the Comets after tripping up a pair of Eagle defenders and arching a shot from the top left corner of the box.
- Wooten of the Eagles made key saves against shots from Jules Chavez and Nailea Lorenzo to keep the score within reach.  
- UTD maintained pressure with multiple corner kicks and shots, effectively managing their lead to close out the match.

The Comets outshot the Eagles 17-5 overall and 9-3 on goal. UTD led in corner kicks, 3-1, while OC committed more fouls, 9-4.
