UTD Suffers First Conference Loss, Remain on Top of LSC

AUSTIN, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team was handed its first Lone Star Conference loss, falling to St. Edward's 1-0 at Lewis-Chen Family Field Wednesday evening.

Despite the loss, the #21 Comets (10-4-2, 6-1-1 LSC) remain in first place with 19 points and two games remaining. Midwestern State is just behind UTD with 18 points and two matches left in the race for the regular season title.

First Half Highlights
- The Hilltoppers (7-5-3, 5-2-1 LSC) took an early lead in the 9th minute with a goal from Bartek Zabek.  
- UTD had an opportunity in the 11th minute with a shot by Ryan Anderson, which went wide.  
- Ryder Claborn made a crucial save in the 25th minute, stopping a shot from Shunji Watanabe.  
- Aiden Erol's attempt for the Comets in the 43rd minute was saved by Angel Ramirez, maintaining the Hilltoppers' lead at halftime.

Second Half Highlights
- UTD opened the period with a series of shots, including attempts from Luke Harris and Avery Brazzell, but were unable to find the target.  
- Ramirez made a critical save in the 51st minute on a shot from Harris to maintain the lead for SEU.  
- Despite several shots from both sides, including a blocked attempt by Matthew Devaney, the defenses held firm, preventing any changes to the scoreline.  
- The Comets continued to press in the closing moments with a saved shot by Julio De Los Reyes in the final minute.
