RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team defeated Richland 10-0 in its final exhibition game Saturday night at the UTD Soccer Field.
The Comets outshot the Thunderducks, who are ranked ninth in NJCAA Division III, 47-0 while putting up 26 shots on goal.
Five different players scored a goal and six registered assists. Junior forward
Gabrielle Thompson posted a hat trick with an assist and freshman
Maya Walker added two goals and two helpers.
Sophomore
Jules Chavez scored twice, including the first goal of the game in the 17th minute. Sophomore midfielder Alicia Aguiñaga added a pair of goals off the bench.
Chelsea Vilca recorded a goal and an assist and
Amelia Griffin posted two assists.
Gabrielle Torres and
Kira Schkade both added assists as well.
Schkade,
Lina Ullen,
Kaley Robison and Griffn each logged over 70 minutes to anchor the defensive effort.Â
Richland keeper Meghan Allen recorded 16 saves.
The Comets will open the 2025 regular season on Thursday, September 4 at home with Oklahoma Baptist at 7 p.m.
