RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Northeastern State at the UTD Tennis Courts Friday afternoon.

The visiting RiverHawks (1-2) took the doubles point, winning one and three. The tandem of Juan Luis Aguirre and Eddy Shteyn defeated Thomas Aramburu and Manuel Brunego 6-3 at number two for the Comets (0-3). Alexander Edley and Mansur Khajimuradov defeated Benjamin Dubois and Matheus de Freitas Zanellato 7-5 in the top duel.

Junior Ronav Aviur won 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-2) against Brunego at number five singles for UTD's only point. Zanellato took Aramburu to a third-set tiebreaker as well, losing 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8).

The Comets' next match will be an exhibition versus Weatherford at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 21.
