LAWTON, Okla. - The UT Dallas baseball team finished its third Lone Star Conference series sweep of the season, defeating Cameron 15-5 in seven innings at McCord Field Monday.
The Comets (15-7 LSC) outhit the Aggies (7-14 LSC) 14-9 and took advantage of three errors, eight walks and seven stolen bases.
Tobin Oler (2-1) went the distance on the mound, allowing three walks with six strikeouts for the complete-game win. CU starter Nick Oliveira (0-1) took the loss, allowing four hits, three earned runs and three walks over 1.2 innings.
The Aggies scored in the top of the first, but the Comets went up 2-1 in the bottom of the frame. UTD went up 6-1 in the second, highlighted by a two-run homer by right fielder
Trent McCown.
A Diego Villarreal sacrifice fly and Ben Williams RBI-single made the game 6-3 in the top of the third.
Jake Amoroso led off the bottom of the inning with a walk, stole second and scored on a
Chris Benavidez base hit up the middle to give the Comets a 7-3 advantage.
UTD scored six runs in the fourth, which included a solo home run from McCown and a three-run bomb by Benavidez. CU posted two more runs in the sixth.
The game ended via run-rule in the bottom of the seventh when freshman third baseman
Gavin Barker drove in
Kole Kinnison and
Alex Miller.
UT Dallas Performances
- Benavdiez was 3-for-5 with four RBI and a home run.
- McCown posted his second multi-home run game of the season and moved into a tie for fifth on the Comets' career list.
- Barker was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI, a walk and a stolen base.

Austin Wallace was 2-for-2 with a stolen base and sac bunt.

- Kinnison doubled, scored twice and had two sac flies.
