KINGSVILLE, Texas - The UT Dallas baseball team won its ninth Lone Star Conference series of the year, defeating Texas A&M-Kingsville 6-3 at Nolan Ryan Field on Sunday.
With the win, the Comets (30-12 LSC) secured the 10th 30-victory season in program history and third in a row. UTD also sits in third place in league standings with eight games remaining.
Game Highlights
- The Javelinas (22-20 LSC) ouhit the Comets 9-8 and both teams issued six walks.

Albert Garza led the game off with a hit up the middle, moved to second on a passed ball and scored on a
Nico Fernandez base hit.Â
- UTD went up 2-0 in the first when
Trent McCown drove in Fernande with a ground ball.
- Senior center fielder
Peyton Peoples hit a two-out, solo home run in the second on the ninth pitch of the at bat to put the Comets up 3-0 in the second.
- TAMUK got on the board in the third when Damian Carreon led off with a walk and scored on a double from Jake Gann.
- UTD tacked on two more runs in the fifth on an RBI-single from Fernandez and a Kinnison sacrifice fly.
- The Javs made the game 5-3 in the seventh after a Gann run-scoring base hit and sac fly from Nick Reyes.
- The final run of the game came on a solo home run by
Alex Miller over the left fiheld fence in the eighth.
UT Dallas Performances
- Garza was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a walk and a stolen base.
- Fernandez drove in two on two hits.
- Miller's home run was his fourth of the year.
- Peoples hit his first homer of the season. He also drew a walk, was hit by a pitch and stole a base.
- Starter
Tobin Oler improved to 6-1 on the year. He allowed four hits, three runs and five walks with three strikeouts over six innings.

Baley Ray tossed 2.1 innings with two strikeouts, five hits and a walk allowed.

Tag Pacot picked up his seventh save of the year by getting final two outs of the contest.
Texas A&M-Kingsville Performances
- Zachary Wright (3-3) allowed seven hits and five runs over 4.2 innings in the loss.
- James Placke and Ruben Rendon recorded scoreless outings.
- Gann was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
- Carreon walked twice and scored two times.
- Nathan Gamez was also 2-for-4.
