EDMOND, Okla. - The UT Dallas softball team wrapped up the 2026 campaign with a doubleheader split at #15 Oklahoma Christian at Lawson Softball Complex on Sunday. The Comets (15-33, 13-27 Lone Star Conference) won the opener 4-3 in 11 innings, and the Eagles (39-13, 30-10 LSC) took game two 4-1.
UTD finished its first season in the LSC in 12th place out of 17 teams.
Game One Highlights
- The 11-inning game tied the longest in program history for the Comets.
- OC scored a run in the first, but left the bases loaded.
- UTD took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third.
Blair Collier led off with an infield single, reached second on a wild pitch and was bunted over to third by
Chloe Grimmer.Â

Rachel Wallace hit a ground-rule double, plating Collier, then scored on a
Sarah Olenick base hit down the left field line.
- A two-run single by Kadence Brewster in the bottom of the third put the Eagles up 3-2.
- In the fifth, Grimmer led off with a walk, was bunted to second by
Sophia Martinez and with the bases loaded, scored on a
Claire Pollack sacrifice fly, tying the game 3-3.
- The game remained scoreless until the top of the 11th.
Cadence Hernandez led off with a bloop single and was lifted for pinch runner
Sydney Wheeler, who moved up to second on a passed ball.Â

McKenna Holm laid down a sac bunt, advancing Wheeler to third.
Audrey Messer followed with a pinch-hit sacrifice fly, allowing Wheeler to score the go-ahead run.
- The first two batters of the bottom of the 11th reached on singles for the Eagles, but Ella Resendiz lined into a double play. Kiley Brewster then flied out to give the Comets the upset victory.
UT Dallas in Game One
- Freshman
Savannah Vanderpool (3-4) was spectacular in the relief, throwing 8.1 scoreless frames. She allowed five hits and two walks and fanned six batters.
- Collier went 2-for-4 with a run scored.Â
- Wallace had the only extra-base hit for UTD, a double and was hit by a pitch.
- Grimmer walked, scored, stole a base and recorded a sac bunt.
- Olenick and Pollack each recorded a hit and an RBI.Â
Oklahoma Christian in Game One
- Marti Yaerger was 2-for-3 with two walks, a run scored and a double.
- Kiley Brewester went 2-for-6 with a triple.
- Kadence Brewster knocked in two runs.
- Sydnee Seat went 2-for-5.
- Pitcher Jill Dickson (16-8) threw all 11 innings, allowing eight hits, three earned runs, four walks and struck out eight.
Game Two Highlights
- The Eagles outhit the Comets 8-4 in the nightcap.
- Kallie Rupp led off the bottom of the second with a double and scored on a hit by Maci George to give OC an early lead.
- Danae Lopez hit a two-run single in the fifth and Yaerger had a sac fly, scoring Seat to give the Eagles a 4-0 advantage.
- Pollack led off the top of the seventh with a base hit and scored on an
Avery Martin double for the 4-1 final score.
Comets in Game Two
- Pollack went 2-for-3 with a run scored. She ended her career in the UTD all-time top five in games played, games started, at bats, runs and hits.
- Martin doubled and had the lone RBI.
- Messer had a pinch-hit single

Katie Hart (4-7) took the loss, allowing four runs, seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
- Vanderpool struck out two, allowing one walk and a hit in two innings.
Eagles in Game Two
- Resendiz (13-0) struck out 10 and gave up four hits and a run in the victory.
- Seat went 2-for-3 with a run scored, double, walk and stolen base.
- Kiley Brewster was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
- Lopez drove in two runs.
