Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Comets Roll Over Lobos 4-0

ALPINE, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team defeated Sul Ross State 4-0 in a dominant non-conference road game Thursday afternoon.

The Comets (5-1-1) outshot the Lobos (0-5) 28-5 overall and 18-1 on goal. They also led 9-2 in corner kicks, while UTD led 10-6 in fouls. 

The first goal came in the 43rd minute when Ossian Elgström assisted Julio De Los Reyes' shot. Just after halftime, Avery Brazzell scored on a breakaway, beating several defenders and the keeper in the 49th minute.

Carson Burden booted a cross-field pass to the left post, where Caiden Jurek chipped in the ball in the 86th minute. Marcel Zouzouambe added another goal on an assist from Itzak Sandoval three minutes later for the final 4-0 tally.

UT Dallas Notes
- Brazzell is tied for the Comet lead with four goals this season. It was also his ninth career goal.
- De Los Reyes recorded his first goal of the season and sixth of his career.
- Jurek and Zouzouabme each posted their first career scores.
- Burden's assist was his second of the year and seventh of his career.
- It was the first assist of the season for Elgström and Sandoval.
- Keeper Ryder Claborn recorded one save for his ninth career shutout. He is now tied for seventh in school history.

Sul Ross State Notes
- Malachi Walker took the only shot on goal.
- Fernando Hernandez had 12 saves in goal.
- Gael Gonzalez played all 90 minutes.

UTD will play its last non-conference contest of the season at Texas A&M International in Laredo at noon on Saturday.
