Jake Eisman has been a valuable role player for the Comets each of his first three seasons, filling in in the outfield and pinch-hitting. May battle for a fulltime starting position in his final season. A hearing-impaired student-athlete, Jake has been featured on a national website/publication that recognizes hearing-impaired athletes playing college ball.

Eisman worked his way into the lineup with six appearances as a freshman, then got 27 starts as a sophomore in the outfield. Did not have a collegiate hit in his first season, but batted .287 in 2007 with seven extra-base hits and 16 RBI. Won second team All-American Southwest Conference East Division honors as a sophomore.

In 2008, he returned to his reserve role and appeared in seven games with three starts. Hit .231 in just 13 plate appearances, but had two doubles and a pair of RBIs. He has twice been honored as an ASC Academic All-Conference student-athlete.

2009: .327 avg., played in 33 games, started 32. 4 2b, 2 3b, 4 hr, 25 rbi. Earned Sportsmanship award. Earned Academic All Conference

HIGH SCHOOL: In addition to playing baseball at Flower Mound Marcus HS, Eisman was captain of his school ice hockey team, which made it twice to the playoffs. He also ran cross country on a team that finished second at the state meet.
