The UT Dallas Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is dedicated to the athletic and academic success of all student-athletes.Â
Â
UTD SAAC provides a forum for the discussion of student-athlete concerns and a channel of communication to administrators through which these concerns can be heard. UTD SAAC will promote the University's intercollegiate athletic teams, good sportsmanship, and community engagement not only for the college community, but the local community as well. Â

SAAC creates an environment in which all varsity sports are represented equally. It strives for student-athlete awareness on the campus of The University of Texas at Dallas. Â

Community Engagement Â
For Division II, community engagement is much more than just community service. That sense of engagement is achieved when the athletics program truly interacts with both its campus and regional communities.Â
The Division II membership has successfully integrated community-engagement initiatives into game days, championship events and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee meetings.Â
Community engagement is so important that the division established an annual Award of Excellence given to the Division II program that best exhibits the community engagement philosophy.Â
An important prong of Division II community engagement is the division's game environment initiative, in which members commit to conducting home events in the true spirit of athletics competition – encouraging the crowd to cheer more for the home team than against the visitors. Division II is the only NCAA division that emphasizes sportsmanship in this manner.Â
UT Dallas has paired up with Team Impact. Team Impact is a national nonprofit that connects children with serious illnesses or disabilities with college athletic teams. Through this partnership, our student-athletes are learning the value of giving back as well as keeping the game in perspective. Â
