UTD BASEBALL FIELD
HOME OF UT DALLAS BASEBALL

The UTD Baseball Field was built prior to 2002 when UTD added both baseball and softball to its athletic department. Since that time, the fields have been continuously upgraded with new backstops, fences and dugouts as well as full-featured scoreboards.
The Baseball Field has under gone significant upgrades over the past decade, including additional seating being added prior to the 2015 season, the construction of an open-air press box in the summer of 2016, and a backstop upgrade during the 2025 season.
Fans have seen the Comets rise to the top of the collegiate athletics world at the Baseball Field, which has been host to four UTD baseball teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament (2007, 2018, 2021, 2022). All-time, the Comets have won nearly 70 percent of its home games and clinched three conference championships since the program's inception in 2002.
On April 29, 2004, the Baseball Field hosted its first postseason event, when the Comets hosted Concordia (TX) in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Tournament. The Comets went on to secure a 7-6 victory over the Tornadoes to advance to the next round. Since 2004, the Baseball Field has hosted dozens of ASC Tournament games.
Because the two facilities were built within an existing four-field, multi-purpose quadraplex, the existing lighting was maintained. The softball field, which still uses the outfield lights from the original complex, is fully lit for night games. The baseball field, however, had to have its original lights removed as the outfield fence was moved back.
Future plans include replacing the lighting, adding field turf, and rebuilding the press box.
