Tierney Hughes, a Dallas native who played collegiate basketball at Trinity University (San Antonio, TX), will begin her third season as the assistant basketball coach at UT Dallas in 2011-12.
A graduate of Bishop Lynch High School (Dallas, TX), played on three state championship teams then jump-started her collegiate career at Newman University (Wichita, KS). She transferred to Trinity before the start of the 2006-07 season, and graduated with a degree in communications and sociology in 2008.
Hughes, who also serves as the assistant coach of Eddie Bull's women's golf team, has coached at several basketball camps with Trinity University and Bishop Lynch over the past two years while working with various club teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
