Kyle Starnes joined the UT Dallas coaching staff as an assistant baseball coach in 2010 after a standout out collegiate career at Webster University (St. Louis, MO). The 2011-12 season will be Starnes’ second with the Comets, also helming the men’s and women's cross country squad.

While at Webster, he was a two-time all-conference pick for the Gorlocks and was twice named All-Region Tournament Team. He left WU ranked in the top 10 in games played, at bats, hits, runs, RBIs, home runs and stolen bases. He also played in the NYCBL in the summer of 2009 with the Allegany County Nitros.

After graduation, he served one season as an assistant coach for the Gorlocks, coaching hitters, catchers and corner infielders. Last spring, he served as the first base coach for the Edenton Steamers in the Coastal Plains League.

A native of SugarLand, TX, Starnes earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Webster in 2009.
