As a freshman, Cassie Lydick quickly became one of the Comets’ go-to options on offense. She began the 2009 season in a defensive capacity, but was repositioned at forward midway through the year.

Lydick was UT Dallas’ second-leading scorer with five goals—including one game-winner against Concordia (TX) on Oct. 31—and made an immediate impact on a Comet offense that struggled to score down the stretch. She may play on three positions on the field in 2010, depending on UTD’s needs.

2009: Scored five goals en route to compiling 10 points…took 35 shots, 17 of which were on goal (.486).

HIGH SCHOOL: Had an award-winning career at Mesquite HS (Mesquite, TX), where her she won First Team All-District and District MVP honors during her senior year…was a Second Team All-District player her sophomore and junior seasons and an Honorable Mention selection as a freshman…also played volleyball.
