Leah Bowyer’s production dropped in 2009, but she still led UT Dallas in scoring for the second straight season. She found the back of the net six times en route to totaling 12 points, a team-high.

As a freshman, Bowyer engineered a 13-goal, eight-assist season and paced a Comet squad that advanced all the way to the American Southwest Conference title game. Bowyer, who has been twice named the ASC Offensive Player of the Week, will return for her junior year in 2010 as one of the Comets’ most relentless scorers. She is currently UTD’s tenth all-time leading scorer, amassing 46 points in just two seasons.

2009: Led UTD with six goals, including one-game winner…21 of her 29 shots were fired on goal…named the ASC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 5).

2008: Played in 21 games, leading UTD with 13 goals and eight assists…had four game-winning goals…named the ASC Offensive Player of the Week (Nov. 3)…earned All-ASC First Team honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Coronado HS (Lubbock, TX), where she was a two-time All-District standout on a team that advanced to the state playoffs all four years…was named Newcomer of the Year in 2004-05 and Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore…four-time Academic All-District…member of the Student Council and National Honor Society…was voted Most Valuable Senior in 2008 and was a member of Homecoming Court…also played volleyball.
