Will Velotta joined UT Dallas as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in April 2025.
Velotta comes to UTD after spending three years as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. While with the Lakers, he oversaw and developed the sports performance programs for baseball, swimming & diving and men's and women's tennis. Velotta would individualize programs for athletes and implement specific speed, agility and conditioning work to match the demands of the sport.
Prior to GVSU, Velotta spent the summer of 2022 as a Professional Intern at Florida State University in Tallahassee, assisting the Seminole football program in weight training, speed, agility and plyometrics and recovery. In 2021, he worked at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville as a Professional Intern and as an Athletic Performance Coach for Speed Strength in Chesterland, Ohio.
Velotta earned his Master's in Organizational Leadership in 2020 at Anderson University in South Carolina, where he also worked as a graduate assistant. He earned a BS in Exercise Physiology at Ohio Northern University in Ada in 2019. A native of Gates Mills, Ohio, Velotta was a goalkeeper for the Polar Bears' men's soccer team.
Velotta is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also holds certifications in ALTIS Short Sprints, Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist, Functional Range Assessment, and a United Soccer Coaches Level 2 Goalkeeper Diploma.
