Cody Usher was named the Assistant Athletic Director - Media Relations at UT Dallas in August 2022.
Usher spent five years from 2017-22 as the American Southwest Conference Assistant Commissioner, While at the conference, he was responsible for developing and maintaining a traditional and social media presence, coordinating championship events and the awards program and assisting with meetings and conference operations.
Usher joined the ASC staff after six years as Director of Athletics Communications at Hendrix College in Conway, Ark. While at Hendrix, he revamped HendrixWarriors.com website and compiled detailed record books for the Warrior athletic programs. Usher managed game operations, media relations and social media efforts for the NCAA Division III institution. During his HC tenure, Usher worked with several ASC sports information staffs in coordination of regular-season and Division III championship game coverage.
Before joining the Hendrix staff, the Herrin, Ill. native spent seven years as Assistant Sports Information Director at the University of Central Arkansas. Prior to UCA, Usher served a year at Rollins College as Assistant Sports Information Director. He was a student assistant in sports information at Harding University where he graduated in 2003 with a degree in Public Relations and minor in Mathematics.
