Riley Schreck

Riley Schreck joined the UT Dallas Athletics staff as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in August 2026.

Schreck comes to UT Dallas after serving as Assistant Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Michigan Technological University since 2022. During his time with the Huskies, he oversaw all aspects of strength and conditioning programming for women's basketball, women's volleyball, cross country, track & field, Nordic skiing, tennis, esports and other programs, while also assisting with football and men's basketball. He additionally coordinated the department's internship program, led youth summer strength and conditioning camps, and served as Interim Head Coach for the Michigan Tech men's and women's tennis teams during the 2024-25 academic year. 

In his strength and conditioning career, Schreck has worked with a wide variety of NCAA student-athletes across multiple sports and competitive levels. Prior to Michigan Tech, he was an Assistant Athletic Performance Coach at the University of North Carolina Pembroke, where he directed programming for volleyball, sprinters, jumpers, throwers and distance runners, while also assisting with women's basketball, football and wrestling. He also served as the program's internship coordinator.

Before his time at UNC Pembroke, Schreck was a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Western Illinois University. There, he oversaw training programs for volleyball, track & field, and men's and women's soccer, while also serving as the interim strength coach for cross country, women's tennis and softball. He assisted in all aspects of the Leathernecks' football strength and conditioning program while completing his master's degree.

Schreck's coaching background also includes strength and conditioning internships at Washington State University and Eastern Washington University. At Washington State, he worked with baseball, women's soccer, track & field, rowing and cheer, while at Eastern Washington he assisted with multiple Division I programs and led training sessions for the cheer team and men's tennis program.

A native of Washington, Schreck competed as a wrestler at Grays Harbor College, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree. He later received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Eastern Washington and a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Western Illinois.
