The UTD Activity Center is a multi-million dollar all-purpose building that was completed in 1999. The Activity Center includes a 3,200-seat gymnasium, a

17 athletic programs.

The gymnasium houses the men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball teams during their respective seasons, while the UTD Athletics Department offices are found at the west entrance of the building. During the summer of 2024, the gym floor got a new modern re-design.

One of the best home court advantages in the nation, the Activity Center has been host to four undefeated home court seasons for Comet Volleyball: 2009, 2015, 2018, and 2020 and one undefeated home season for UTD Women's Basketball in the 2008-09 campaign. All-time, Comet Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, and Volleyball have won nearly 75 percent of its home games since the 1998-99 seasons, including a 31-match home court winning streak from 2014-16 for the Volleyball team.

Fans have seen the Comets rise to the top of the collegiate athletics world at the Activity Center, which has been host to 24
UTD teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament in their respective sports, including Sweet Sixteen teams in 2008-09 (Men's Basketball), 2013-14 (Men's Basketball), 2014-15 (Women's Basketball), and 2016 (Volleyball).

The Activity Center has hosted multiple championship events, including American Southwest Conference Volleyball and Men's Basketball Championship Tournaments multiple times, as well as NCAA Division III National Tournament games.

In 2010, the Activity Center became the first UTD facility to host an NCAA National Tournament event. As the Men's Basketball team clinched a second-round win over Wheaton College on March 6, 2010, advancing to the Sweet 16 in front of a record-setting home crowd. Since then, UTD has hosted multiple NCAA events for volleyball as well as both men's and women's basketball; and crowds at Activity Center events have continued to grow in size and enthusiasm.

The Activity Center is also utilized for non-departmental purposes, including Career Fairs and Commencement.
