ABILENE, TX (11.06.15) - The 2015 season for the UT Dallas women's soccer team came to and end Friday afternoon with a 3-1 loss to No. 9-ranked Texas-Tyler in the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament.
The Comets (now 14-8) fell behind early and then gave up two second half goals. Freshman
Melissa Fulfer accounted for UTD's only tally, scoring her sixth goal of the season late in the first half.
Tournament top-seeded Texas-Tyler opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Morgan Monzingo put away a cross from teammate Brittany Matthews from from five yards tou to put the Patriots up 1-0. Fulfer's goal would come in the 31st minute after Jacqueline Kaufman beat two UTT players down the right the side and cross the ball in front of the Patriot goal. Kaufman beat a Patriot defender and drilled the ball into the net to knot the game, 1-1.
UTT (now 16-0-1) would add an unassisted goal in the 60th minute by Chestley Strother and a final goal by Kayla Akin, assisted by Shelby Valdepena, in the 71st goal to seal the victory. The Patriots finished with 18 shots, nine on goal.

Monica Dallacasa would make six saves, playing the full 90 minutes in goal. UTD took eight shots, four on goal, with
Megan Mugavero with a team-best two shots.
