BELTON, TX (09.25.15) - The No. 24-ranked UT Dallas volleyball team is now the only undefeated team in American Southwest Conference play after sweeping past three ASC West division opponents in the Dig Pink Crossover Challenge, including a 3-0 win Saturday afternoon over defending champion and tournament host University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
UTD (13-2, 4-0 ASC East Division) knocked off the defending champs in the final match of the weekend Saturday, defeating the Cru 25-12, 25-20, 25-21. UTD opened the tournament Friday with a pair of quick wins over Howard Payne and Concordia Texas.
The Comets have now won six straight matches and have 10 sweeps on the season, including their last four matches.
UTD is back in East Division action on Tuesday night at home against rival University of Texas at Tyler.
UTD def. HOWARD PAYNE, 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-9) The Comets got nine kills from
Michelle Toro and eight kills each from
Emma Wallbrown and
Kristyn Schott as they earned the quick win over the Lady Jackets.
UTD hit .365 as a team in the match, including an impressive .550 as a team in the third and deciding set. In the final stanza, the Comets collected 12 kills, compared to just one error, in 20 swings.
Abbie Barth ended the contest with six kills and a match-high 15 digs while setter
Kayla Jordan finished with 33 assists, averaging 11.0 per set. Jordan is the NCAA Division III leader in assists per set.

Holyn Handley who led the way with 11 kills in the match while Barth and Wellbrown again contributed six each.
The Comets hit .300 and .250 in the first two sets with a combined 23 kills before tapering off in the final frame.
Jordan added 29 assists to her record-breaking totals, and picked up three service aces in the match.
Fayna Zeng was credited with 14 digs while Barth and Handley had 13 each.
UTD def. MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR, 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-21)The Comets enjoyed one of their top offensive matches of the season in taking out the defending ASC champs. UTD hit .314 as a team with 50 kills and just 12 errors in a three-set victory.
UTD also combined for 8.0 total blocks and were stellar on defense with 67 digs.
Handley took charge at the net with an 18-kill afternoon, making just one error on 39 attempts for a .436 hitting percentage. She also added a pair of service aces and three block assists.
Michelle Toro pitched in 14 kills with two errors on just 21 attacks, posting a .571 mark. Toro and Wallbrown each had threee block assists.
Fayna Zeng led four players in double-digit digs with 18.
