RICHARDSON, TX (10.25.16) - Freshman outside hitter
Dylan Brinkman recorded the school's first-ever 20-kill performance in a sweep as the No. 4-ranked UT Dallas volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over rival Texas-Tyler to close out a second straight perfect American Southwest Conference season for the Comets Tuesday night.
The Comets (now 24-1, 12-0 ASC) picked up their 19th consecutive victory with Tuesday's sweep of UTT, and 30th straight ASC regular season match, dating back to the 2014 season. Brinkman, who had tied the previous UTD three-set record Saturday in the Comets win over then No. 3-ranked Wittenberg, took sole possession of the record with 20 kills while hitting .341 in the quick win over the Patriots. Brinkman had six kills in the opening set, four in the second and an impressive 10 kills in the decisive third set. She would finished the night with nine digs and four blocks.
The Comets hit .236 for the night, including .419 in the commanding 25-12 win in the third set. UTD hit just .152 in the opening set, earning a 25-16 win, and held off the Patriots, 25-20, in the second set by hitting .167 as a team. In comparison, UTT hit just .065 for the match.
Brinkman was the only Comet in double-digit kills as

Emma Wallbrown each ended with five kills and
Abbie Barth had four kills. Libero
Briana Tully finished with a match-high 18 digs and Barth added 10 digs. UTD out-blocked the Patriots, 11-3, with Wallbrown leading the pack with six blocks.
The Comets will wrap up the regular season this weekend with a pair of matches against nationally ranked opponents. UTD will travel to Georgetown Friday for a 6 p.m. contest with No. 5-ranked Southwestern before returning home Saturday for a 5 p.m. match with No. 24 Hendrix.
