RICHARDSON, TX (04.09.16) - Thanks to a pair of strong pitching performances and six total home runs, the UT Dallas baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep of Ozarks Saturday afternoon to close out a three-game weekend American Southwest Conference series with the Eagles.

Brandon Lee tossed a two-hitter and the Comets belted four home runs in a 7-0 win to open Saturday's twin bill while junior
Jonathan May gave up just three hits and was the beneficiary of two long balls, including a walk-off grand slam, as UTD run-ruled the Eagles, 10-0, in the series finale.
Riding a season-high four-game winning streak, the Comets (now 16-12, 7-8 ASC) wrapped up their weekend sweep of Ozarks with Saturday's two victories after earning a 5-1 win over the Eagles in Friday's opener. UTD returns to action Tuesday for a 3 p.m. non-conference home game with the University of Dallas.
Game 1 - UTD 7, Ozarks 0
The Comets hit a season-high four home runs in support of Lee's best outing of the season as the Comets rolled to a 7-0 win over Ozarks to open Saturday's action.
Lee (3-2) took a "no-hitter" into the 5th inning before the Eagles opened the frame with back-to-back singles. The Dallas native would record the Comets' first shutout of the season as he fanned six Eagle batters.
The Comet offense used the long ball to secure the victory for Lee as four different UTD players left the yard in the win.
Josh Covey opened the scoring in the 3rd with a solo shot, his first career home run.
Ryan Burciaga added a three-run homer in the 4th, his second of the weekend and third of the season, before
Tim Cole and
Brandon George went "back-to-back" with one out in the 5th. The Comets closed the scoring with an RBI double by
Mitch Barati, scoring Burciaga, in the 6th.
UTD collected nine hits in the victory with
Nick Marti the only Comet to record a multi-hit performance, going 2-for-3.
Jimmy Norris finished 1-for-4, but swiped his ASC career record-breaking 78th stolen base in the 3rd inning.
Game 2 - UTD 10, Ozarks 0 (8 inn.)

Brandon George blasted his first career grand slam with no outs in the bottom of the 8th to cap the sweep of the Ozarks with a 10-0, eight-inning victory over the Eagles.
May (4-3) allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out five Eagles hitters as he pitched the second shutout of the season for the Comets. George was 2-for-4 with four RBI as one of two Comets to go yard in the series finale.
The Comets opened the scoring in the 2nd with a sacrifice fly by Burciaga, scoring
Nick Marti, and then added a solo homer by
Haden Johnson in the 4th to take a 2-0 lead. UTD added three runs in the 7th, thanks to an RBI double by Cole, scoring Covey, and a two-run single by Marti, plating Cole and George. Cole drew a bases-loaded walk in the 8th before George ended the game with his walk-off grand slam.
Cole finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBI and two ru ns scored while Covey was also 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base.
