Box Score AUSTIN, TX (09.23.16) - In the first of two American Southwest Conference Crossover Tournaments of the season, the No. 9-ranked UT Dallas volleyball collected a quick 3- 0 event-opening win over Howard Payne Friday afternoon. This weekend's tournament is hosted by Concordia Texas.

The Comets (now 10-1, 3-0 ASC) extended its ASC regular-season winning streak to 21 matches after downing HPU, 25-19, 25-15, 25- , in their first of three matches over the weekend. UTD will face Sul Ross State and McMurry Saturday.

Senior Abbie Barth, who became the Comets' career digs leader earlier in the week, led UTD with nine kills while adding eight digs and hitting .364. Michelle Toro had eight kills and Shelby Walker added six kills. Setter Caroline Shecterle finished with 28 assists (9.3 per set) and libero Briana Tully ended with a match-high 20 digs.

The Comets hit .197 for the match and out-blocked HPU, 8-3.
