RICHARDSON, TX (09.05.16) - With 1:20 left to play in the second overtime period, St. Thomas' tallied the only goal of the night and handed the UT Dallas women's soccer team it second loss in as many days to open the season, 1-0, Monday night at the UTD Soccer Field.
The Comets (now 0-2) will look to bounce back from two one-goal losses over the opening weekend when they host Carroll (WI) and Chapman (CA) next weekend in another round-robin event. UTD hosts Carroll Friday at 7 p.m. and Chapman at 1 p.m. Sunday. The two traveling teams will play each other at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Monica Dallacasa made seven saves on the night before UST's Brielle Bierman raced down the middle of the Comet defense after an entry pass from teammate Mary Ennis and shot past a diving Dallacasa for the game-ender.
For the second straight game the Comets out-shot their opponent, this time 15-13, and finished with 11 shots on goal, all saved by Tommie keeper Taryn Thellig. Senior
