CLARKSVILLE, AR (01.30.17) - Freshman Curtis Allen drained six three-pointers as he lifted the UT Dallas men's basketball team to an 87-56 road win over Ozarks Monday night in American Southwest Conference East Division play.

The Comets (7-13, 5-7 ASC) picked up their fourth straight win and took over sole possession of third place in the ASC's East Division with four league game. UTD will return to action Saturday afternoon at Belhaven. Game time is 3 p.m. in Jackson, Miss.

Allen was 6-for-11 from beyond the arc as he finished with a season-high 22 points to lead three Comets in double figures. Jon Hatcher and Kyle Coulter each added 13 points in the victory. Coulter also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.

The Comets ended the night 30-of-57 (52.6%) from the field, topping 50 percent for just the third time this season. UTD matched a season high for three-pointers made, hitting 14-of-29 (48.3%) from long distance.

UTD took control of the game early in the night as the Comets used a 9-0 run, capped by an Allen three-pointer, to grab a 9-3 advantage with 17:34 left in the opening half. UTD would then use another big run (16-0) later in the half to secure its first 20-point lead of the contest, 27-7, with 11:21 remaining in the period.  The host Eagles would trim the lead down to as few as 11 points late in the first half before UTD pulled away for its largest margin of victory of the season.
