Kaufman Dishes Three Assists in UTD's 5-0 Win Over Southwestern

RICHARDSON, TX (10.19.17) - Junior Jacquie Kaufman handed out three assists for the second time in her career as the UT Dallas women's soccer team cruised to a 5-0 home win over Southwestern University Thursday night in non-conference play.

Freshman Maya Fuller tallied twice for the first time in her short career as four different Comets found the back of the net in Thursday's lop-sided victory. Fuller became the seventh UTD player this season with a multi-goal game while Kaufman recorded the first three-assist outing for the Comets since the 2015 campaign.

Fuller opened the scoring in the 41st minute as she accepted a cross from the right from teammate Bailee Davis and beat SU starting keeper Mary Cardone to stake the Comets to a 1-0 halftime advantage. Stephanie White doubled UTD's lead in the 52nd minute thanks to Kaufman's first of three straight assists, a short cross from the right side. Fuller's second goal came in the 71st minute, also assisted by Kaufman, after a long pass down the middle of the field. Davis got in the action with a goal in the 77th minute, assisted by Kaufman from within the six-yard box. Nique Enloe would complete the scoring in the 86th minute as she tallied after a saved shot by Tori Martin. All four of UTD's second-half goals came against Pirate reserve keeper Kylie Hunt.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Comets ended the night with 48 shots, 20 on goal, and held a second opponent this season without a single shot. UTD's 48 shots tied the second-highest total this season and was just one shy of the season high of 49 shots against Louisiana College on Sept. 23. The Comets took 18 shots in the opening half and then added 30 shots in the final 45 minutes, the most shots in half for the squad this season. UTD ranks among the leaders in NCAA Division III in shots per game, now averaging 27.1 shots per outing.

With two goals, Fuller gave UTD a multi-goal scorer for the second straight game as Jessica Rusk scored twice this past Saturday in UTD's 5-0 win over McMurry.

Kaufman moved into a tie for fourth place on the Comets' all-time assists list after adding three Thursday night. Kaufman now has 25 career assists. She now ranks 11th all-time at UTD with 61 points.

UTD posted its eighth shutout this season and fifth win by five goals or more.
