TYLER, TX (09.14.17) -The UT Dallas women's soccer team opened American Southwest Conference play Thursday night with a 1-0 road victory over rival Texas-Tyler.

Michelle Lee gave the Comets all the offense they needed in the 56th minute to put an end to a 27-game unbeaten streak (25-0-2) at home by UT-Tyler, dating back to the 2014-15 season. After a scoreless opening frame, Lee received a cross from teammate
Stephanie White to record the first goal allowed by the Patriots through four games this fall.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The Comets took 15 shots, seven on goal, in the victory as they snapped a four-game winless streak (3-0-1) against UT-Tyler. The win was UTD's first over the Patriots since the 2013 campaign, a 1-0 double-overtime victory in Tyler.
The UTD defense allowed 13 shots by the Patriots, 10 in the second half, but gave up just three shots on goal. Comet keeper
Monica Dallacasa made saves on all three UTT scoring attempts.

Keely Fillman had a game-high five shots, three on goal, while Lee and
Jessica Rusk each took three shots. Dallacasa recorded her second shutout of the season.
