CLARKSVILLE, AR (09.16.17) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team scored four times before halftime en route to a 6-0 road win over Ozarks Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference play.
The Comets out-shot host Ozarks, 18-1, ending the lop-sided victory with season-high 12 shots on goal.
Stephanie White opened the scoring in the 11th minute thanks to an assist from
Melissa Fulfer and
Jessica Rusk.
Abby McDowell then doubled the UTD lead in the 28th minute, assisted by
Mandy Avalos and
Jacquie Kaufman. One minute later, Fulfer scored her first goal of the contest, assisted by
Nique Enloe, to put the Comets up 3-0. UTD's final first-half goal came with 22 seconds on the clock when
MaKayla Forsberg scored after Enloe's second assist.
Fulfer and Forsberg each added second-half goals to complete the Comet scoring barrage. Fulfer's second tally of the game was unassisted in the 57th minute while Forsberg was assisted by
Michelle Lee in the 72nd minute.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Twelve different Comets took a shot in the game as no player had more than three shots in the balanced attack. UTD allowed just one shot by the host Eagles, the lowest total given up by the Comets this season.
KEY PLAYERS:
Jacquie Kaufman finished with three shots, one on goal, while Fulfer, White, Forsberg and Enloe took two shots each. Starting keeper
Monica Dallacasa did not need to record a save in a scoreless opening half while freshman
Christa Morovitz made her appearance of the season with 45 scoreless minutes in the second half.
