RICHARDSON, TX (09.03.17) - Junior Jacquie Kaufman drilled a penalty kick in the 66th minute to break open a tie game and lift the UT Dallas women's soccer team to a 2-1 non-conference win over North Central College Sunday afternoon.

The Comets (2-0) picked up their second 2-1 victory of the weekend and will continue their four-game home stand next weekend with home games against Concordia Chicago (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Willamette (Sunday, 7 p.m.) at the UTD Soccer Field.

UTD struck quickly as freshman Nique Enloe was the recipient of a Jacquie Kaufman cross and nudged a shot past Cardinal keeper Gretchen Frantz. Keely Fillman was also credited with an assist on the goal as Kaufman one-touched Fillman's long ball from the left side. The Cardinals (0-2) answered early in the second half wh en Alexa Dimovski scored from 20 yards out after a rebound of her own free kick just outside the penalty box.

Kaufman created her own penalty kick opportunity as she drove the ball to the left of frame before being taken down in the box by a NCC defender. Kaufman now has two goals and two assists through the Comets' first two games of the season.

The Comets ended the match with 24 shots, 10 on goal, compared to 10 by visiting NCC. Melissa Fulfer took eight shots, five on frame, while Fillman finished with five shots. UTD keeper Monica Dallacasa finished with five saves, four coming in the second half.
