Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Defensive Dominance Continues as Comets Blank McMurry, 1-0

ABILENE, TX (10.11.18) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team recorded its 10th consecutive shutout victory Thursday night as the Comets blanked McMurry, 1-0, in American Southwest Conference play.

The Comets improved to 13-0 overall and continue to sit atop the ASC standings, now with a 7-0 league mark after Thursday's victory, and has qualified for a 17th consecutive conference tournament in the process. UTD is now poised for its toughest test of the season when the Comets visit ASC co-leader and No. 8-ranked Hardin-Simmons at 5 p.m. Saturday before returning home.

The lone goal of the contest came in the 16th minute when Jessica Rusk tallied her sixth goal of the season, a header off a Bailee Davis corner kick. That would be all the scoring the Comet defense would need as they collected their third straight 1-0 decision. UTD limited the host War Hawks (4-8-1, 2-4-1 ASC) to just eight shots on the night, only two of which were on frame.

The Comets finished the game with 11 shots, seven on goal, with Melissa Fulfer leading the way with four shots. Jacquie Kaufman added two shots, both on frame.

UTD keeper Monica Dallacasa recorded her ninth shutout of the season and extended her school record for consecutive scoreless minutes to 868:06, now sitting just 55 seconds shy of the ASC record (869:01), set by former HSU keeper and two-time All-American Rebecca Roth (2011). This fall, Dallacasa is 13-0 in goal for the Comets with a minuscule 0.09 goals against average, the best in NCAA Division III.
