ST. LOUIS, MO (10.26.18) - The UT Dallas volleyball team locked down its 13th straight 20-win season Friday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Millikin to open the Baden Invitational, hosted by Washington-St. Louis.
The Comets improved to 20-7 with Friday's win and will close out the regular season Saturday with two more matches in the event. UTD will next face DePauw at 11:30 a.m. before squaring off with No. 12-ranked Washington-St.Louis at 3:30 p.m.
Alyssa Porter led the UTD attack with nine kills and a .444 hitting percentage while
Dylan Brinkman contributed six kills.
Alex Nolan had four kills and six blocks in the three-set victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets opened the match with a 25-11 over Millikin as Brinkman had a team-best four kills. UTD hit .219 in the set and picked up three blocks to take the 1-0 lead.
- Porter led UTD with three kills as a balanced attack led to a 25-11 win over the Big Blue in the second set. The Comets hit just .200, but held Millikin to a -.206 team hitting percentage.
- Porter again led the Comets with three kills in the third set while UTD hit just .098 in a 25-22 win. The Big Blue hit negative for the second straight set, finishing the stanza with a -.051 team hitting percentage.
