RICHARDSON, TX (03.10.18) - The UT Dallas softball team closed out its three-game American Southwest Conference home series with No. 14 East Texas Baptist Saturday afternoon with a 9-3 loss.
The Tigers (10-3, 6-0 ASC) scored a run each in the 1st and 2nd innings before UTD cut the lead in half in the bottom of the 3rd with an Elizabeth Bran single, scoring
Melissa Livermore from second base. However, ETBU answered with two runs in the 4th before the Comets could respond again with a two-run 5th.
In the 5th,
Ravin Wilson used a lead-off home run, her first of the season, to draw the Comets within two runs, 4-2, and
Stefanie Polderman doubled in Livermore to make the score, 4-3. But, ETBUÂ added three runs in the 6th and two more in the 7th to pull away for the win.
Karen Crane (3-3) picked up her second loss of the weekend, giving up three earned runs on four hits with one strike out. Livermore was 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, making her 10-for-12 for the series.
NEXT GAME
The Comets (5-6, 5-4 ASC) will take a break from league play next week with six games in Seguin at the TLU Classic. UTD will play double headers against Messiah (12 p.m. Wednesday), host TLU (5:30 p.m. Thursday) and La Verne (12 p.m. Friday), before returning home.
