MARSHALL, TX (03.06.18 ) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team collected its third straight win Tuesday with a 6-3 road victory over East Texas Baptist in non-conference play.

The Comets (4-1) opened the match with a 2-1 advantage in doubles play then added four singles wins to earn the team victory.

Top-flighted Alberto Hernandez and Ashwin Vaithianathan opened the contest with an 8-3 win over ETBU's John Herr/Cody Highsmith, while No. 2 Giovanni Zamboni and Rodney Brown downed Tigers Andrew Deutch/Tyler Howard by the same score.

Hernandes added a 6-0, 6-0, over Joseph Salinas at No.1 singles while Zamboni, the reigning ASC West Player of the Week, outlasted Highsmith, 6-1 ,6-2, at No. 2

Vaithianathan (No. 3) added a 6-4, 7-6, win over Deutsch and Brown (No. 5) handled Ty Tarver, 6-1, 6-0.

The Comets will take more than two weeks off before returning to action on Wednesday, March 21, when they visit Howard Payne in ASC West play.
